Tela is the second largest department of Atlantida, Honduras city. Two national parks and botanical garden transform it into a realm of unparalleled adventures. Each year, after the cold of January, the city is acquiring the color and warmth that characterizes it.
It was founded by Cristobal de Olid on May 3, 1524. Tradition has it that the original name of the population was Triunfo de la Cruz, since it was created precisely the Day of the Cross, according to the Catholic calendar. The same tradition holds that the name was shortened to be as we know it.
